# LyondellBasell and Sinopec form 50:50 JV for PO/SM unit in China

LyondellBasell and Sinopec signed a non-binding MOU to form a 50:50 joint venture to construct a new propylene oxide (PO) and styrene monomer (SM) unit in Zhenhai, Ningbo, China. The unit will produce 300 KTA of PO and 600 KTA of SM, with construction starting in early 2020 and start-up expected in 2022.
