Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned the first 500 MW lignite-fired thermal unit at the Neyveli New Thermal Power Project in Tamil Nadu, owned by NLC India Limited. The unit is the highest rating pulverised lignite-fired thermal unit in the country.
