ALTANA AG is taking over Swiss overprint varnish specialist Schmid Rhyner AG, strategically expanding its ACTEGA division. Schmid Rhyner generated sales of roughly EUR 50 million in 2018 with around 80 employees. The acquisition includes production, R&D in Switzerland and a subsidiary in the U.S.
