# Mingtai Aluminum breaks ground on plant in Gwangyang, South Korea

Mingtai Aluminum (Mingtai) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new aluminum plant in Gwangyang, South Korea. The plant will produce aluminum sheets and foil on an 82,627 m² site with an investment of KRW 100 billion. Phase 1 is expected to be completed in 2021, creating 160 jobs, and phase 2 by 2022, creating 400 jobs.
