# GE to supply gas turbines for 1.5GW expansion of Besmaya power plant

Mass Energy Group Holding and GE Power signed an agreement to expand the Besmaya power plant in Iraq by 1.5GW, bringing total capacity to 4.5GW. GE will supply four 9F gas turbines and four generators. The expansion is expected online by 2021, with first 500MW added in 2020.
