# KION Group and BMZ Holding form joint venture for lithium-ion batteries

KION Group AG and BMZ Holding GmbH have signed an agreement to form a 50/50 joint venture, KION Battery Systems GmbH, to manufacture lithium-ion batteries for industrial trucks in Karlstein am Main, Germany. Production is expected to start by 2023 with around 80 employees.
