Thyssenkrupp has commissioned the world's first commercial polylactide (PLA) plant using its PLAneo technology in Changchun, China, operated by Jilin COFCO Biomaterial Corporation, a COFCO subsidiary. The plant produces standard PLA types for packaging, fibers, textiles, and engineering plastics.
