# SOCAR Polymer to launch polypropylene plant in May 2018

SOCAR Polymer LLC announced that its polypropylene production plant in Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, Azerbaijan, is expected to start operations in May 2018, with a capacity of 180,000 tons per year. A high-density polyethylene plant is expected to start in Q3 2018 with a capacity of 120,000 tons per year.
