# Anglo American Platinum signs Topsoe WSA sulphur emissions control contract for Polokwane smelter

Anglo American Platinum signed a contract with Topsoe for its WSA sulphur emissions control technology at its platinum smelter in Polokwane, South Africa, with Hatch handling engineering, procurement and construction management. The WSA plant will cut SO2 emissions from about 90,000 to under 1,200 mg/Nm3 and produce up to 148 t per day of sulfuric acid.
