# Severstal upgrades transformer at Cherepovets steel mill

Severstal's Cherepovets Steel Mill (CherMK) commissioned a new transformer S1T, increasing its capacity from 40 MVA to 63 MVA. The investment cost was about 70 million rubles, and the transformer was manufactured by Silovye Mashiny - Toshiba. The upgrade improves power supply reliability and allows increased electricity output to the mill's grid.
