Universal Plant Services, a Houston-based provider of field services, acquired Mechanical Solutions Inc., a Whippany, New Jersey engineering firm specializing in rotating machinery such as pumps and compressors. Terms were not disclosed, and it is the first add-on investment since UPS partnered with New State Capital Partners.
