# Dongfang Heavy Machinery starts expansion of heavy workshop in Guangzhou Nansha

Dongfang Electric (Guangzhou) Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (Dongfang Heavy Machinery) started construction of a 11,000 m² expansion of its heavy workshop in Guangzhou Nansha, China. The project will build the country's first heavy equipment manufacturing workshop with a single-hook lifting capacity of 1,000 tons, focusing on nuclear power equipment. Completion is scheduled for May 2027.
