# Mitsubishi Electric to build new plant building for C-GIS production in Marugame, Japan

Mitsubishi Electric will construct a new factory building at its Power Distribution Systems Center in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture, to strengthen production of cubicle-type gas-insulated switchgear (C-GIS). The investment is about 2.8 billion yen, with completion in June 2026 and operation start in October 2026, aiming to double annual C-GIS production by 2027.
