# Sumitomo selected as preferred subsea cable supplier for Sea Link

National Grid has selected Sumitomo Electric Industries as preferred bidder to supply and install the 138 km subsea cable for the Sea Link HVDC connection between Kent and Suffolk. Sumitomo will manufacture the cable at its new UK factory in Scotland.
